Tonight there are no stars. The city worker salting the earth Sees me crying through my kitchen window The snow muffles the noise pollution as I wring A year's worth of tears out. They claw to the surface in moments of quiet. Loss has ripped us to ribbons An intimate, endless terrorism A quiet horror show. people say "i miss you" with such fond intentions, but to me it's venomous even though i know i should be flattered and i can see plane fare in the piles of cigarette packs, so the only thing in my way is me, as per usual. We tried once to write vignettes on those pieces of foil you pull out after you hit them against your hand. i forget often that all the stories that fascinate the people we tell them to make cramped seats and crying children seem so much less worth it. things pile up and i hate myself for my reaction to them, which is so two years ago and those lines of bright text on a blue wall will fall below the screen eventually w
